These chaps have gotten me out of a fix on more than one occasion. They replaced a gas boiler for me last month and they were efficient, very reasonably priced and to be honest, left my kitchen cleaner than they found it. I cannot recommend them enough.
Rachael Mckee
After having Keith do plumbing work for me, I will definitely be employing him again. He was a pleasure to have in my home, very polite, thorough, tidy and efficient. I shall be booking him very soon to service my gas boiler.

Ask Keith...
What should I do if I smell gas?
Can you smell gas? Or do you have headaches, nausea or dizziness? What to do in an emergency.
- Turn off the gas emergency shut off valve at the gas meter
- Any naked flames? Extinguish them and don’t smoke
- Electrical sockets and lighting switches must not be used because this can ignite escaping gas
- Be sure to open all doors and windows to ventilate the area and get plenty of fresh air
- Contact the National Gas Emergency service on 0800 002 001
- An emergency operative will visit. If they identify an issue with any gas appliances, follow their advice and stop using your gas appliances. Then contact a Gas Safe registered business, like us, to fix the appliance and check it’s safe.
- You might be feeling unwell, visit your GP or hospital and let them know you may have been exposed to carbon monoxide
- Don’t turn the gas supply on again until it’s been checked by a Gas Safe registered engineer
Why is my boiler not working?
With use, boilers will eventually breakdown. However, its not always necessary to call a professional. Below are some helpful checks you can do before calling for help.
- Is your boiler pressure low?
- Do you have gas or oil?
- Are your room thermostats are turned up?
- Is your boiler switched on?
Visit our blog page for more advice on these checks.
Should I upgrade to a high efficiency boiler?
How long does it take to install a new boiler?
An oil or gas boiler replacement can take approximately one working day to complete. It can take approximately two days If you are moving from an oil heating system to a gas heating system. This is all circumstantial. The main caveat being power flushing. Where this is required, the length of time to complete a boiler installation can be increased substantially.
How do I determine if I need a new heating system?
Consult a professional if you are having doubts about the life of your heating system. It may be that your system needs some work but perhaps not entirely replaced. Visit our blog for more information on this.
What are the terms and conditions of my boiler warranty?
The terms and conditions of your boilers warranty are determined by the manufacturer. The length of warranty varies depending on the manufacturer and boiler model. It’s worth noting that to maintain a valid warranty you should have your boiler serviced annually. This is a requirement of all boiler manufacturers.
Why is my radiator cold at the top?
Bleeding a radiator is a simple process. Radiator bleed keys can be purchased at almost all local garages.
- Take the bleed key and locate the bleed screw on top of the effected radiator
- Loosen the screw with the key slightly until air is released (Careful not to remove the screw entirely)
- Keep a rag handy to catch any excess water from the bleed screw
- Once the air is released and water has appeared gently tighten the bleed screw
- The radiator should now heat from top to bottom
How often should I have my boiler serviced?
- Safety – Primarily, boiler servicing ensures that the appliance is working safely
- Longevity – Servicing will help extend the life of your boiler by picking up on potential issues that may worsen
- Efficiency – Combustion boilers can become less efficient over time and servicing can keep efficiency high and bills low
- Warranty – It is a requirement of every boiler manufacturer that their boiler be serviced annually to validate their warranty
How do I determine if I need a power flush?
Radiators specifically cold at the bottom would be an indicator that you need a power flush. Its best to have your water quality tested by a professional. A total dissolved solids test will help guide a decision as to whether a power flush is necessary.
